- The constitution declares that the president "shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed."
- The president executes the laws by relying on his presidential cabinet- 14 executive branch department heads who advise the president
- Presidents are free to select the members of their Cabinets that must e approved by the senate and there is usually a change up in Cabinet positions when a new administration takes office
- There are three main duties of the cabinet 1) Manage the affairs of their departments 2) Representing their departments in public and before Congress 3) Advise the president on matters that concern their departments
- The president can also issue executive orders which is a law that the president puts in place without Congressional approval
